Várkonsertin 2024
Spring concert with with the Faroe Islands Symphony Orchestra
An internationally recognized cellist and a guest conductor visit the Faroe Islands Symphony Orchestra. The concert is a celebration of the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner. This year marks 200 years since Bruckner was born. It is also the first time that the symphony orchestra plays a Bruckner symphony. The Danish/Swedish cellist Andreas Brantelid plays a cello concerto by Antonín Dvořák, and English Catherine Larsen Mcguire, who also visited the orchestra in 2022, is once again on the conductor's podium.

Children's Concert 2024
4.000 children from all over the Faroe Islands will experience the Faroe Islands' Largest Orchestra play children's concerts in The Nordic House. Actor and narrator Jákup Dahl Wardum will together with the Faroe Islands Symphony Orchestra tell the story of Tubbina the tuba. The story is about a tuba that plays in the orchestra. She is tired of playing the same two notes all the time and never is allowed to play a real melody. Tubbina goes on an adventure because she wants to try to play a real melody for the first time. Sùsanna Tórgarð has translated the story into Faroese. There will be public access to the concert in The Nordic House and to one in The Culture House in Fuglafjørð. In addition, nine concerts will be played for kindergartens and schools. Arranger and composer Atli K. Petersen has arranged two recent Faroese songs for symphony orchestra. The program also includes other music that you all know. The Faroe Islands Symphony Orchestra is looking forward to playing some fun and cozy concerts for the youngest. Conductor: Bernhardur Wilkinson

Danish Comedy Show
What actually happened when 3 students at a drama school in Denmark became a national phenomenon after appearing on a TV show back in 1980? This can be experienced in the play "Here Are the Other 2," a Danish comedic and musical performance about Linie 3. The play is a loving and honest portrait and retrospective of the success of Linie 3 over 40 years. The audience experiences a reunion with some of the best highlights, seasoned with newly written dialogues performed by Anders Bircow and Thomas Eje. The play is also a narrative about everything that happened after the curtain fell. Overwhelm, frustrations, crises, joys, and tears - honestly and lovingly told by Anders and Thomas. They maintain the thread throughout and guide the audience through a musical and comedic journey spanning 4 decades.
